What would I need for good quality audio in a video?

I'm saving up my money to have a "studio" (not really) but I made a you tube video recently and used an app that recorded my voice while i was singing (i used my iphone mic) then I sent the audio to my computer then edited it to blend into the music. It sounded good to me! I don't have an ima so i don't know how to do garage band (do I need to buy a cd from bestbuy and download it to my computer) I also was planning to buy a mic. But what could i connect that too, or can I get a usb cord that transfer the music to my computer? Basically I want to get as less equitment as i can, so I'm thinking I would need a mic, a mic stand, a pop block thing (can't remember what its called at the moment) anything else? If this is all i need, just tell me so, i want to be sure when i buy what i need!

Get a good graphics card. If you are willing to spend 300 dollars on an AWESOME gaming computer which can handle recording, video, etc. Any day of the week you could build one for 300 dollars buying separate parts off of newegg.com And this IS A TOP of the line computer. REMEMBER: A good graphics card is VERY IMPORTANT. Buy a great one for 200 dollars but make sure it's compatible. And i suggest you build your own only if you are experienced. If you are not, then buy a thousand dollar desktop ready to use with external coolers from Frys Electronics. If the computer is used for gaming (not recording audio) you can get a real nice gaming laptop for 500 dollars on amazon. Hope this helps

  • Your suggestion for a pro quality video camera with great audio under $500? I work at a trade school we we have weekly guest lectures, presentations, and other events, and we're wanting to take some quality videos to put on our site and elsewhere. Typical iphones and other similar devices are just giving us poor quality, especially audio, so we're looking for suggestions for a quality videocamera under $500, with the most important attribute being good audio pickup.
  • Would I need a fast mbps rate to host audio streaming? My ambition is to create an iPhone app, in which users will be able to listen to streamed music (like Pandora, or Spotify). My concern is if I'll need a quick net speed to accomplish this fluidly (current is 10mbps down, 3mbps up), as I want as few listeners as possible to have to face buffering issues. I'll be using a PC (Lenovo Z40, if specifics matter) as the dedicated server to host the music being streamed. Could anyone assist?
  • Why does my video have such bad video quality? I uploaded my video to the computer and it had great video quality, then I uploaded it to Facebook and YouTube and It looked horrible. It there anything I can do to change that? Save it a different way or something? I see all these YouTube videos that have been filmed by iPhone's and they have great quality. Shouldn't my 14mp camera have even better!
  • Why does my iPhone receive good quality videos as bad quality videos? So I recently met a famous guy in concert and when I got a picture wth him I was getting a video and my friend used her phone to video it. So she sent it to me and it was like terrible quality and the video was like little with a huge black border around it. But yet it looks perfectly fine on her phone? How do I fix it? Whenever I try to get video editing apps it always says error & only with that particular video. I have an iPhone 5c, and so does my friend.
