White pupil in flash photo?

Hey so I was going over my camera roll and discovered one pic where I had a white pupil. So being a hypochondriac I decided to test it by taking more pics. It would always come out normal expect when I was in my washroom where there's good lighting ( kind of spot your supposed to do test I guess ) In my washroom on my old phone my eyes always appeared white at every angle. But on my new iPhone 7 my pupil sometimes appears white/yellow, or sometime she only half of its white. Only a few times there has been a time where the pupil appeared greyish or kind of purple at the top. These are all signs of an eye disease. My biggest fear is to lose my vision and have my parents take care of me when I'm older too please help. I'm 14 with a month to go till 15 and have a bad prescription of -6.50 ish. I also have visual snow and other symptoms associated with it if that helps.

So? The retina throws back the light which appears white.
nothing wrong with you.

It is totally useless to ask here.
Go see an ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam.

There's no such thing as a 'bad' prescription for lenses unless it is not the right one.

You didn't do something wrong in a past life to somehow earn having defective lenses.

Your pupil is covered by the lens, which refracts light in order to focus it. This refractive quality makes it reflective at certain angles, thus making the pupil glare or look a different color.

As to the visual snow, tell a doctor about it. Or not, seeing as you somehow already have a medical degree.

Oh, what? You don't?

Then quit diagnosing yourself.

If the eyes do not match with the same refelection in the photo, it can be a reason to get it checked by a doctor.

White pupils can be a sign of serious eye diseases if they are seen in normal light. Young children who have white pupils may have retinoblastoma, a deadly cancer. You don't have that. Older people with white pupils may have cataracts. You don't have that. Your pupil normally appears black because it is an opening into your eye and it is dark in there. Doctors have special tools called ophthalmoscopes that allow them to look through your pupil and see the back of your eye. This is accomplished by effectively putting the light and the examiners eye at the same place at the same time. When your doctor looks at your pupil through his ophthalmoscope, he does not see black, he normally sees orange. Small cameras like the one on your phone have the flash and the lens close together creating a similar effect. This effect is normally called red eye since the structures in the back of the eye tend to be a bit red or orange. It does vary from person to person however. Lighter complected people have less pigment in the back of their eyes so their pupils will appear lighter with a flash. There are also conditions like a scleral crescent where part of the white of the eye can be seen. There's another condition called myelinated nerve fibers where some of the nerves in the back of the eye are covered with white stuff. None of these represent anything bad going on with the eye.

  • Why does the flash on my white Iphone dosnt work to good? Me and my boyfriend both have an Iphone but he has the black and I have the white iPhone. But the the flash on his phone works perfctly in the dark. The pictures come out good. But the pictures on my white iphone with the flash come out dark, blurry and not good at all. Is there settings I need to change? Why do the pictures come out so much different if its the same phone?
  • White & Silver iPhone 5S or White & Gold iPhone 5S? I'm asking for an iPhone 5S for Christmas and I'm not quite sure which colour to get. Black & Space Grey is a no for me btw. Please don't give me hate guys, only need help making a decision!
  • What is the iphone app that makes the photo background white? I have the app whitagram which is good, but I keep seeing people on instagram using a photo editor that makes the background white, but also you can move the photo more to the left, more to the right and change the size of it without cropping it. I think you can also add cute stamps to it (love hearts etc). Lots of people use it but noone will tell me what it's called which is very frustrating.
