Why can't I take pictures on my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4 8gb, which I know, the storage is very small. I literally have 1.5 pages of apps, 150 songs, and 600 pictures but I still can't take one picture. It says that my memory is full, but I keep deleting apps and I still can't take pictures. I've deleted 50 pictures before and I could only take a couple pictures with the amount I deleted before it got full again. It's really frustrating because I don't have that much on my iPhone but I can't even take one picture. What's wrong with my iPhone?

I got a real camera. It takes pictures very well, and has nothing to do with apple, that's a bonus!

This is just a guess but you might be taking different resolution photos. If you are taking a very high resolution photo (1080p) then you will take much more space then say a 720p photo. Also the reason deleting apps isn't helping might be because the phone has different spaces for media (photos, videos, music) and apps. Try adjusting the resolution of the photos you are taking if you can. I don't have an iphone nor have ever owned one so i'm not very sure but i thought i could offer something.

Try a hard reset (lock button and home button together until the phone shuts off, then if it doesn't turn back on within a minute or two turn it back on)

  • Why won't my iPhone 5 take pictures? My iPhone won't let me take pictures, save pictures, or screenshot. I tried deleting pictures and I deleted over 800. I now know storage is not the problem. Each time I try to save a photo (usually from twitter) an error message pops up saying "Error; Write Busy". At first I thought it was a twitter glitch but then I realized I could not take pictures through the iPhone camera app, or any other outsider camera application.
  • Why isn't my Iphone (5) taking regular pictures and only able to take Selfies? When I take a picture of the object in front, the screen goes blank and the picture doesn't get taken. It then slides to the start page. When I start the camera it goes on flip mode automatically and only takes selfies. any idea what's the problem here?
  • Why is my iphone letting me take pictures if my storage is full? My storage on my iphone is full so its saying i can't take aby more photos until i delete other photos. But how come to the next day my camera is letting me take pictures again? I find this really weird if my storage is supposedly full? Why is this?
