Learn some fundamentals of photography

Skill, knowledge, training, experience, and good lenses.
You just learned the first rule of photography - buying a 'better' camera doesn't magically make your pictures better if you don't know what you're doing in the first place.
You need to understand the fundamentals of photography - exposure, lighting & composition before you can get the most out of a DSLR.
Have you taken a class?
Have you read the manual?
Clearly the fact that you have found a set of good images on Flickr taken with the same camera shows you it's the user that's the problem.
Why? Because evidently you don't have the same level of photography skills as the person who took those images.
BTW, these aren't even especially good photos. Pretty run-of-the-mill stuff.
If there's enough light, and you set your DSLR to Auto, then yes, the photos will look similar to your iPhone pictures. However, once you are in low light, then the difference becomes even more noticeable due to the larger sensor and the camera's ability to manage the noise in the photo. There's a lot to learn in photography.
While you can set your D5200 to Auto and let the camera do everything for you, this should NOT be your goal. What you want to do is learn to use the camera in Manual mode and only use the other modes because it makes more sense for the shoot. There are also things like lighting and post-processing that will make a difference.
Start by learning the photographic triangle; ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture.
You are more proof that owning a hammer doesn't make you a carpenter.
