Why does my data usage go up when I'm not even on it?
And if I get a twitter notification while I'm off of Wi-Fi, does that take up data? Btw I'm not opening twitter, I'm just getting a notification.
You will be charged as long as you are connected to the cellular data, no matter what you do. So, disable cellular data when you are not using it and save your balanced.
No only if you go in
Yup definitely
The second you get anything on your phone. Any alert (other than emergencies and stuff), any preview on your lock screen, a ding from a text in your inbox, it's using data. You don't have to be on it, the fact you have it, means it's using it. Best luck.
- Why does my iPhone usage not add up? Settings > General >Usage It says "2.9 GB available" 9.9 GB used. I have a 16 GB iPhone. 9.9 and 2.9 don't add up. Where's the remaining 3.2 GB?
- Why does my iPhone 4s data get throttled over even if I'm on Wi-Fi? Sorry for the stupid question but google gave me nothing. I have AT&T and I'm over 3GB so my data is being throttled. However, I found that it was even getting throttled when on my home Wi-Fi network. I turned off cellular data and it was almost ten times faster. Anyone have any clue as to why this would happen?
- What does Cellular Data Usage Current Period mean? I have an iphone 5c and Unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 6GB of data. In cellular in settings it says Current Period: 8.4GB and Current Period Roaming: 0 bytes, am I going over my bill?!
- Under settings on my iPhone, does the data usage include Wi-Fi usage? Because its stating a ridiculous amount and I've had my data off… And my Wi-Fi on. Does the total of data include the amount of Internet I'm using when on Wi-Fi? I'm so confused
