Why doesn't my DNS server work?

My computer and iphone can't load anything ONLY in my room. If i go downstairs my Wi-Fi works perfectly. I troubleshooted on my computer and it said my DNS server is not responding. What could be the reason for this? And why does it only not work in a certain area?

What's the kind of the router? The name and reference

Contact your service provider may be fault mightl be in his side
Or this video will help

The router is not getting the info it needs from the modem (usually caused by not allowing enough time between starting the modem and router). Try this:

Switch the router and modem off,

Retstart modem,

wait 2 mins,

power on router.

Also, does it work with an ethernet cable plugged into the router?

Can you also check that your laptop is set to dhcp.
All the best!

A DNS server problem should not be caused by location. However, an easy check is to go into Network and Sharing Center then click Change adapter settings (on the left side of the screen) Find your wireless network right click then left click on properties Click on Internet Protocol Version 6 click properties make sure it is set to Obtain IPV6 address automatically do the same for Internet Version Protocol 4, that will fix a true DNS server issue

Verify that you're connected to the same Wi-Fi network when you're in your room and when you're downstairs.
