Why is there a circle instead of 3G?
I have an iPhone 4 from cricket my phone is being really slow and all you see is 4 bars of signal company name and then that circle in place of the 3G signal why is it there and how do I get rid if it?
It most likely means your in a no service (dead) zone

You probably are in an area that doesn't have 3G coverage. Either that or check your APN settings for cellular data.
The o (circle) by the way is 1G aka GPRS which is why it is really slow.
Phones have different radios for the different services the receive. The radio for the cell is not the same as the radio for data. The bars mean that you have cell service in that area and the circle means that you are in a hole where your cheap lousy Cricket company does not have 3G data service.
- Why is there a circle where the 3g symbol should be on my Iphone 4s? I just activated an iphone 4s from virgin mobile and ever since I got it, it has had terrible 3g coverage, everything is slow and half the time won't even load and the 3g symbol shows up rarely for like a minute and I'm very frustrated with this because I paid full price for my iphone to have it not work at all in the way I want it to.also, I can text and call fine its the 3g network that is not working.

- There's a black circle on my iphone screen? I accidentally put a little water onto my phone and when I wiped it off there was a small circle on it. I touched it and it sort of became bigger. I can still see my screen but the area with the spot makes it a lot lighter than the area around it. I'm just a little scared that the spot will turn into something really bad.
