Why isn't my iPhone 5 charging?
My iPhone 5 had died when I was at my boyfriend's house, I got home late and put it on my charger. I was waiting for it to come on to the passcode so I could talk to my boyfriend before I went to bed and tell him goodnight, but I fell asleep while waiting. Then I wake up and wanted to text him goodmorning and it was still dead. I tried everything to get it to work. I tried plugging it in another outlet in my room and it didn't work, I tried to plug it in two different rooms and it still wouldn't charge. I even tried to plug it in the car charger. Now I have it plugged in the laptop and it's still doing nothing. Why won't it charge?
Maybe it overcharged and it broke
The connector on the phone or charger - is it dirty? Try cleaning it out will a small brush
Try plugging the phone into your computer, let it sync then back into the wall charger cube
Try the following:
Reboot your phone and then try again
Reset your phone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If none of this works, replace the cable and charging cube - if still under warranty Apple should do this for free
