Why won't my iphone connect to the Wi-Fi?

I recently just baught an Iphone 5s. I've got it all set up and it all works perfectly fine. Only problem is i can't get it to connect to Wi-Fi! Its nothing to do with my internet or router because my laptop is connected and works fine, and my sisters phone is also connected to the Wi-Fi and works fine.

Everytime i type the password in and click join, it just says 'unable to connect to Wi-Fi'. I have the Wi-Fi password right and i'm typing it in right but it just won't connect. I've tried resetting my network settings, that doesn't work either.

Help? How can i get my phone to connect to Wi-Fi?

Have you tried reset network setting?

On your iPhone go to Settings-> General Settings-> Reset-> Reset Network Settings.

Then Restart your iPhone.

On your Router, there's a WPS button on the front of the console. Hold it down for 10 seconds, the lights should be flashing. At that time try connecting your iPhone again. It should be up and running now.

Check your router settngs, maybe the MAC address filter was turned on. Make sure that the MAC address filter is disabled in your Wi-Fi settings.

Check out this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/...ad/5064766 if you still experience problems connecting your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.

Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Check the manufacturer's website for firmware or software updates for your Wi-Fi router.
Check the wireless security option of your Wi-Fi router:
If you are using WEP security and have multiple WEP keys on your Wi-Fi router, try configuring your Wi-Fi router to use only a single WEP key in key index 1.
Consider using WPA or WPA2 instead. WPA and WPA2 encryption protocols are newer, more effective security options for wireless networks than the older WEP protocol.
Temporarily disable wireless encryption or security on the Wi-Fi router to rule out encryption issues.

Disable 40MHz in the 2.4GHz settings on the Wi-Fi router. Mac computers, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch do not support this mode. Disabling it may reduce interference issues.
Supported Wi-Fi networks vary by iPhone, iPad, iPod touch model (Example: Does my device support 802.11n?).

  • Why won't my brand new iPhone 5C won't connect to my home Wi-Fi? I just recently bought an iPhone 5C for my mom, along with an HTC One. The 4G LTE seems to work fine on both of them, but my iPhone can't seem to connect to my home internet (the HTC connected perfectly fine). I'm 100% sure I'm inputting the correct password, and it always comes up with the same error: "Unable to join the network '[my Wi-Fi name]'" I've tried turning the phone and router off and on, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick…
