Why won't my iphone 4 check for software update?
It was working saturday i did not try it sunday. But finally i cleared enough space to download the IOS 6 update. I tap the software update and it says "unable to check for update" I restarted my iphone and the Wi-Fi to. What do I do
Try plugging it into a computer via USB and launch iTunes to check for updates instead. Works every time.
This happened to me too with my iPod touch when updating to ios 5.1 before. If in anyway that you can't update through your device, you should download the latest version of iTunes, then plug your device in to your computer usb port, then open iTunes and click where you see the name of your device on the side bar, then click on check for update under version and follow the steps. If it is impossible to update through there try using windows update and then try again
