Why won't my iphone 4 turn on? - 2
My Iphone 4 won't turn on unless i put in on charge but then it goes to emergency calls only, how do i fix this problem and if i take it to the apple store will they ask for my password and is it possible that they will have to wipe my phone?
Maybe battery/sim is loose
Battery might have gone faulty. Do you leave it on charge overnight because I have heard this can kill the battery pretty quickly. As for the emergency calls, maybe there's hardware fault causing all of this activity. If you take it to the Apple store, depending on when you brought it etc, I think you have 1 year for replacement unless you brought Apple care warranty which is like 2 or 3, then they might be able to run a diagnostic on what has gone wrong. If you're worried about losing your data, use iCloud backup. I had to restore my iPhone 4 when it wen't wrong and the iCloud backup put all of my apps and settings and everything back to how it was. Look on youtube @ videos on how to get outa dfu or recovery mode, could be as simple as that, happened with a few of my iphones, have you tried restoring it also, altho this will erase your stuff & reverse any jailbreak that may have been done
As stated already this could be a number of things. Firstly try a hard reset (press hand hold the home and power buttons for around 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears). If this doesn't work you may have a battery problem or something more serious. In this case i would take it to a repair centre or back to Apple if it is still under warranty.
