Why won't my iphone 4 won't turn on?

I've had my iphone 4 since January 2012. Today my phone just turn off out off nowhere and won't turn on. Is it because the battery has died? How long does an iphone battery last?

Depending on use… It is a possibility that the battery is bad. If you have used it a lot i would say its the battery

I've had this happen to me before. It could be many things. One of which is a defective battery. I've also had to sync my phone (via USB cable) to iTunes on my PC And my phone turned back on instantly. It could be your charger too that doesn't work. Try holding the home and lock button down for at least 20 seconds and see if you can manually force a restart. Good luck I know phone stuff can be freaking irritating. If you purchased the extended apple care plan you may be able to have them replace it for free!
