Why won't my iPhone earbuds work on my iPhone but work fine on a computer?

So I have the worst luck with earbuds and it happens to be reoccurring. I have a normal iPhone 5 and I enjoy music but when I listen to my songs only one earbud will work while the other one is dead. I can go on my computer and they will both work so I was wondering why they both won't work on my phone?

1. Clean Headphone Jack
Sometimes an iPhone's headphone jack stops working because of debris that has become trapped inside. To find out if this is the problem, hold a flashlight over the jack and look inside. If you see anything that shouldn't be there, turn off your iPhone and straighten out a thin paper clip. Slide the tip of the paper clip inside the jack, press the debris against the inside wall and slowly slide it out.

2. Turn Off Bluetooth
When a Bluetooth headset is connected to your iPhone, all sound emitted from your device is transmitted through the headset. To see if a Bluetooth headset or any other Bluetooth device is interfering with your headphone jack, try turning off your Bluetooth. To do this, tap on "General" from the Settings menu, tap on "Bluetooth" then move the slider beside "Bluetooth" from "On" to "Off." If your headphone jack stills doesn't work, turn off your iPhone then try again.

3. Reset or Restore
Sometimes a glitch occurs within an iPhone that could result in an unresponsive headphone jack. A glitch can often be corrected by resetting or restoring your device. To reset, hold down the "Wake/Sleep" button and the "Home" button at the same time and don't release until the Apple logo appears. This usually takes around 10 seconds. Then wait while your device reboots itself. If this does not correct your headphone jack issues, you could try restoring your iPhone. To do this, connect your device to your computer through its USB cable, launch iTunes, click on the name of your device in the panel on the left side of the screen and click on "Restore" in the Summary tab. Make sure to back up your content when prompted to do so or you could lose valuable data.

4. Have it Serviced
If your headphone jack still won't work, you will need to take it in to an Apple store to have it repaired. If your device is still under warranty, you should not have to pay for this repair. All Apple's products come with a free one-year limited warranty. Customers also have the option of purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan, which extends the length of a warranty. If your headphone jack stopped working as a result of water damage, Apple will not cover the cost of the repairs, regardless of the situation. All Apple iPhones and iPods built after 2006 have a built-in Liquid Contact Indicator located in the bottom of the headphone jack. This indicator will let Apple staff know if the device has been in contact with water or a liquid containing water.
