Will apple repair a jailbroken iphone?

Few days ago, my iphone suddenly auto shut down and turn on repeatedly by itself. I tried to restore it, but failed. It just keeping rebooting itself even during the restoration process.tried in both dfu and normal restoration mode, but i got the same result. I heard that apple won't repair a jailbroken iphone, but i can't restore it to factory settings. I really don't know what to do now. Are there any shop that can fix iphone?

Nope, unfortunately they don't help with jailbroken apple products. You could always give them a call but even if you sent it away they can determine whether or not it's been jailbroken.

You have to restore it through the computer because files are moved around during the jailbreaking process. Your warranty is void so apple won't fix it for you.

Craigslist actually has a lot of people who fix iPhones in my area. So I imagine almost every area is the same. Just check out Craigslist and see what you find.

Basically, by jailbreaking it, you've broken the 'terms and conditions', so you'll have to make your arrangements to get it repaired…

For a fee. Jailbreaking voids the warranty, so you will not be able to get it repaired for free.

Hi, I see your dilemma and actually it is quite common, So heres the deal if your phone will not restore they have no way of knowing if your phone is Jailbroken. Typically when you take your device into apple they try to restore and if they can't and it is under warranty they will just replace the device. If they do restore it the jailbreak will be gone and problem solved. I'm the owner of a cell phone repair shop in Pinellas County and see this all the time. Hopefully this helps

As long as there isn't a big pineapple for a boot logo, and restoring doesn't seem possible, they won't be able to tell it was ever jailbroken. I'm not saying it's not technically possible, but they're busy, and if you go in and politely describe what happened they'll quickly decide to replace the phone. And even if they figure out how to restore a clean image, it will overwrite the jailbreak so by the time they have it running again it won't be jailbroken.

Don't sweat it, unless there's something telltale on the screen as it cycles.

  • Will apple repair my jailbroken iPhone? No I don't have warranty and I do not want a new phone, I want to know if apple will simply repair my phone if it is jail broken and has Cydia. That is all I'm asking. My iPhone won't charge unless I turn it off completely. I recently had my cracked screen replaced at a place in the mall, and since then I could only charge my phone if I shut it down completely. What should I do?
  • Will apple repair a broken screen on my iPhone 4S? Not for free of course because apple doesn't do anything for free, but will it be like the 30 dollars of the back cover or will it be an obscene price like $200 or something like that?
  • Should I repair my jailbroken device or not? My 6.1.3 jailbroken iPhone 5's speakers do not work. The phone is still under warranty, so I can bring it into an Apple store to be fixed. However, I have to re-format my device to factory settings so my warranty is not voided. After Apple fixes the phone, can I downgrade to 6.1.3 to jailbreak again? Or is there another solution to this?
  • Is it ok to bring jailbroken iphone 4 to the Apple Store for screen repair? My the lens on back camera on the iPhone 4 is scratched and it produces foggy images. I would like to have it fixed. Apple said they can replace the back screen for $30. My iPhone is jailbroken. Should I be worried about bringing the jailbroken iPhone to Apple for hardware repair?
