Will I have the same phone number/sim card when my iphone 5C is replaced?

Basically i dropped my iphone yesterday and the screen completely shattered. I pay an extra £10 a month for insurance with EE so i rang them up and they are sending a replacement phone which should arrive tomorrow, exactly the same. They told me to wipe the phone which i have done already. Will the replacement phone have a new sim card in it? Will they deactivate my old phone and reactivate the new one with my old number? Or will i have to start again with a new number and not have any of my contacts?

I did backup my phone and take a copy of my contacts before. I know you can't take sim cards out yourself unless you have one of those keys (which i don't), and even if i could put my old sim into the new phone, I've wiped the phone. Please someone help i'm worrying myself about it!

? Just use a paperclip. This is in Apple's own documentation.

You put your SIM card in the new phone. Done. That's it.
