I'm 18. Can I have a contract with Verizon?

Okay. First of all, please DO NOT make this into a mobile service war (Why go with Verizon? T-mobile is so much better). As a consumer I have already made my choice. I would like a contract with verizon wireless.

My question is: I'm 18 and i'v been a verizon customer on my dads plan for many years. I love Verizon and have recently been employed by Verizon. I currently have the iPhone 5 and want to upgrade and move off onto my own service. The problem is, even as an employee, I can't find any REAL answers on this situation. So I'm asking to get a general feel or to see of maybe someone else was in the same situation.

I do not want to be with prepaid. I want a two year contract with Verizon because I was hoping to upgrade my phone to the Samsung Galaxy Note III.

Problem is: 1). I'm 18, 2). I don't have any credit or other experience with contracts, 3). I don't have a state ID or anything like that (I will in about two weeks but I get paid on Friday and was hoping to upgrade my stuff over the weekend).

Would I be able to do this?

Get your ID first. You may or may not have to pay a deposit to go post paid without any credit history.
Nothing is stopping you from trying to get the contract without ID, but you'll look like a kid when you can't prove how old are without having mommy or daddy there to vouch for you.

But that is an option, taking the main account holder with you and have them do a Transfer of responsibility, for your line. That way they can vouch for you, especially if you have been paying the bill for your line for over a year already. And you have been a customer, just not in your name. And they may see that as "history", as friends have done that for their kids in the past with other carriers.

Don't they give the temp ID to you when you go in for it and the real one in the mail a week or so later, just like they do drivers licenses?
