2010 Kia Rio usb audio cable?
I just bought a 2010 Kia Rio. It has the original factory audio equipment. It has an aux and usb input but it won't work with my regular charging cable like most car stereos. I have an old iPod, a newer iPhone and my boyfriend has an android phone. They all use different chargers. I can use the regular aux cable for any of them but i have to use a separate car charger for charging. The owners manual says to buy a special Kia audio cable and they only connect to my old iPod. I want to use my phone too, so spending a lot of money on this special cable seems stupid. I don't even know if this special cable will allow me to control the music from my stereo instead of on my device (very distracting while driving). Is there any benefit to having this cable from Kia instead of just having all these extra cords tangled in my car? I just wanna know if this cord will do anything that my other cords don't do already. I have a USB adapter for the cig lighter with all the charging cables and an aux cable with mic. I just feel like there's cables everywhere and I keep having to change up what's plugged in where. Please only answer if you are familiar with this problem, I don't need a bunch of stupid advice.
The aux plug takes a stereo patch cord with a 3.5 mm three conductor plug that is about 13-14 mm long. It only plays sound from the headphone jack into the aux port. Charging cables are not the same thing. If there's an adapter from KIA that lets you control and charge your appliance from the KIA stereo, that is so much better and worth the money for function. The USB adapter for the cigarette lighter won't do what you're asking through the aux port. A little planning before your trip can help you avoid a mess of cables, like set your playlist to fit your commute. It's a car, not a lounge. Phones and ipods were not designed for cars, really. Just think about what your intentions are. Now, let's see IF other KIA owners come with perfect answers. Word: I needed to drive for 18 hours to get somewhere. I burned 8 hours worth of mp3 entertainment onto CDs each - 9 of them. I haven't heard all of them so far. I hope you can actually enjoy *driving* your Rio.

- How to stop kia picanto radio auto scanning? I recently bought a new (14 reg) Kia Picanto 1 Air, and although it's great, the radio keeps auto scanning if it loses the slightest coverage! I have noticed it is worse when I try to play my iphone music through an fm transmitter, and can barely last 10 seconds without changing to another radio station. I have tried looking through the manual and playing with the settings but nothing has worked so far. Can anyone tell me how to stop it from auto tuning?
