A five digit code is being asked after resetting iPhone

My iphone 6plus is completely reset. Where if you go to turn the phone on it shows "Hello" it then asks you to press your home button to start. When I do that it asks for a 5 digit code. I've never had one and its my phone. How do I get rid of it?

its likely there's a default code and you did have it, but didn't read the manual

if you still got the manual then read it- if not then download a copy

You don't lock your phone? It's the same digit that you use to unlock your phone.

If you have to enter a code when you never put in a lock code then it's not your phone. You found the phone or stole it or whatever and you need help to unlock it.

When you buy a new iPhone, there's no lock code and it's turned off completely to save on battery. When you open it and press the power button, it doesn't ask for a code.
