AA battery USB Portable charger flicker-charges?
So I made a Portable USB Charger using this diagram:
When I soldered everything correctly (I double, triple, and quadruple checked it), I tested it out on my iPhone. When I flicked on the battery, it didn't seem to work.
Then I tried on my Android device (HTC One S on T-Mobile), and the LED orange light turned on and off.
I checked in the settings, and it would change from "Charging (USB)" to "Not charging"
It would do that very quickly repeatedly. I'm not sure if my device is charging or not.
How do I fix this?
Added (1). Oh, and also, I'm using 4 AA batteries and a 7805 5v Voltage Regulator, if that's important to your diagnosis.
4 AA batteries adding up is 6V.
7805 does not work on 6V, It needs at least 8V.
The silly circuit that you made has big mistake on switch connection. It shall not turn OFF.
What a fool drawn such silly circuit.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUILD THIS SILLY REGULATOR CIRCUIT IF YOU USE FOUR AA RECHARGEABLE CELLS. IT BECOMES EXACTLY 5V. WIRE IT DIRECTLY TO THE USB PORT.
- Why does my iphone 4 flicker? My iphone 4 flickers randomly every now and then but when it does it goes absolutely nuts. I slide the lock and then it flickers and goes back to the lock screen and then it goes to the thing where you slide to turn it off… And you have to press cancel then it flickers back to lock screen etc etc it repeats. It gets really bad at times but then my phone is normal… Why is it doing that? Should I get it fixed how much would it cost roughly? (AUS)

- My car head unit charges via USB but won't play music? I bought a Dual XDM260 head unit for my 2000 Chrysler LHS. When i plug my iPhone 5 in via USB it charges and the USB mode pops up then quickly changes to auxiliary. The manual says that the unit is capable of doing such a thing but for some reason won't. Is there anything I can do?
- Iphone usb cable only charges? There's this iphone/ipod/etc cable i can connecct with my iphone. Nonetheless, it works flawlessly to charge. However, when i connect it to my computer, it charges but it never gives the option to open the device. It doesn't say installing device or anything. But the phone still charges. (I'm on win 7 btw) I borrowed a friends usb (the white original one) and it charges and i can view the device! Is there a way to work around this cable or is it a charge only?
