Any recommendations for a DIY speaker circuit?
I want to make a DIY speaker circuit WITH MY OWN CHOSEN COMPONENTS NOT A SPEAKER KIT. I would like…
1)the volume to be controlled via a knob
2) to have an on/off switch/button
3) and to be connected to my iPhone via a separate cable.
I would just like some recommendations for a speaker circuit with these things in (preferably from someone with experience) but anyone who thinks they know what they are doing can feel free to answer as well.

Do you just want to make a circuit, or do you want to make a working iPod dock (speakers, amplifier, crossovers, input board, etc.)?
Your wanting to make a pair of self powered monitors or speakers. Not to discourage anyone from wanting to learn or build and design loudspeakers but honestly its a very complex process and takes a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to build and design a speak that will sound good. Not to mention typically when designing from scratch there's some trial and error, prototypes and testing to get the final version right. Not to mention your wanting to build self powered speakers on top of that.
How much time and money do you have to learn to build speakers? You might want to read some books like the Speaker Design Cookbook which will give you a idea what is involved.
Honestly it would be cheaper to just buy something made, but if your wanting to learn then kudos to you.
