Apple Mac or PC for college? Are tablets necessary?

I'm going to be a science major (bio, chem, that sort of thing) so would a Mac or PC be better? Also, if MAC, Air or Pro?

I have the Galaxy phone and plan to get the 5 in April. Someone told me that all my devices should be of the same brand so I can sync them, but there's no way in hell I'm going to buy an iPhone like BYE FELECIA:'). So do you think what brand my phone is should impact my laptop/tablet?

Ah no, I myself don't like unified systems, due to the lack of diversity. If you have an insane budget, go for the Razer Blade, otherwise, try just looking for something from the IdeaPad from Lenovo! For Science!

You should probably a PC, and no, your devices do not need to be the same brand.

Lets get to the first question. I would get the computer that can run both windows and Mac OS natively. That way there won't be many programs in the world you won't be able to run. Now if that sounds like something you might be interested in then you want a Mac.
. As for which one. Find a best buy or apple store and lay your hands on the laptops. No matter which one you get I highly recommend an external HD and an external DVD burner. While neither is necessary it does allow for great backup abilities.
. As for a phone. What ever floats your boat.

A Mac is a personal computer (PC). Without any suggestions of other brands or model to compare to the Mac it is impossible to provide a meaningful answer. How much is your budget? What are your requirements? Are you going to need to carry it around all day?

Many education institutions provide material for iOS devices so you may have to reconsider your choice of phone/tablet.
