What tablets/laptops are there for my grandad?
My grandad, aged 79, who just about knows about where the on button on a laptop is, is looking for a device where he can access emails. He has issues typing on my iPhone, and has reading glasses. What would be good for him?
The nokia 2520 is big and cheap, plus windows platform is using big tiles instead of small icons on android/iphone. Windows are make easier for people who has none computer knowledge.
The cleaning spanish lady from where I work has a lumia and she likes it because its stable and buttons are big
If only to access email and minimal other functions and storage and eyesight and dexterity not what it was, there are a couple of potentials.
For a fixed position use in a home where portability is not a concern, I bought my mother a big screen all-in-one. It is not for gamers or power users, but she loves the high definition large screen and full size keyboard and mouse and minimal space and wires involved in it. They come in many prices and performance levels.
If portability is key and just wants something bigger, Chromebooks and 10.1" tablets are available fairly inexpensively.

The key in looking also is the features needed in internet access types.
Some can use 3G/4G wireless, and some only wi-fi, and some also have ethernet.
Some are linked to wireless phone services.
I think ipad mini is the best tablet for him it is easy in the use and getting emails is very easy and its words are big

- Will Apple desktops/laptops get the new feel of iOS7? Obviously the 'iOS' system is for iPhones, iPods and iPads so there would not be an iOS update on the iMacs/MacBooks, however I wondered if an update for the computers (complete with the new designs for apps etc) was forthcoming? - IPhone will pick up Wi-Fi but laptops won't? My iPhone is picking up Wi-Fi at my house but my laptops won't. (I know it's picking up from the router because I shut it off and it stopped - and it's not 3G or anything like that either. Any advice on why it would be doing this?
