There's no law about cellphones in the workplace. That decision is made by your company and is known as "company policy".
My business cell phone is a iPhone. So is my personal cell phone (I carry both).It depends on the company.
In mine they are… In fact any type of cell phone is allowed in my workplace… It depends on each individual work policy. There's no universal rule
It's completely up to the company. However, workers don't have any legal right to have a phone at work. If your boss says "don't bring your phone to work", then you can't file suit to get him/her to allow the phone at work. Well, you CAN file a suit, but you won't win.
My husband and daughter both work in high security positions. Both of them are not allowed to bring any sort of recording device (including cell phones) into the workplace.

I'm going to kanye wests concert tomorrow and it says so cameras on the ticket. but I was wondering if a lens like this would be allowed in the concert but i'm pretty sure its all made out of plastic so I could probably hide it? will security wands detect it?
