Would I be allowed? (Australian)?
I'm boarding a QANTAS plane and going from QLD to VIC (Melbourne), would I be allowed to put my iPhone (5) to airplane mode and turn it off and just use it to take pictures on the plane?

You probably could, but there's a good chance others would get parinoid because they might think they're in the shot. You may be asked to stop by a flight attendant because your technically invading other's privacy. By the way, it is illegal to not comply with a flight attendants or pilots request (at least in the US). That's why the Mile High Club isn't illegal, but if you're asked to stop, you must.
Honestly though, I think you'll be just fine.

Different airlines and aviation authorities have different policies and for different planes. Some pilots have their own opinions too, so it's impossible to tell for sure.
Quantas domestic flights seem to allow the use of mobile phones in flight mode. Just not during take off, landing or taxi.
- Would this iphone lens be allowed in no-cam concerts? I'm going to kanye wests concert tomorrow and it says so cameras on the ticket. but I was wondering if a lens like this would be allowed in the concert but i'm pretty sure its all made out of plastic so I could probably hide it? will security wands detect it?

- Will an Australian Iphone 4s work in New Zealand? My Nana lives in australia and has an Iphone 4s to give to me. She has used it but need the screen replaced as it was dropped on the bathroom tile floor. But she is getting it replaced for me. I'm not sure where she purchased it from, I do think I will have to get it unlocked because she was on a plan that you pay it off for 24 months. I'm not too sure if it can be and if so where? I would ask her but she doesn't know squat about technology.
