Are people still having major problems with their iPhone 5's?

I want to upgrade my iPhone 4 to 5 but I heard there were a few problems on release but do people still have those problems? I only heard of a few things like the maps don't work well (which I don't care about), battery charge and scratches on the black iPhone which is the one I'm thinking of getting.

Yes, because they don't know that android is much better than iphone

I just recently had an iPhone 5 and I can tell you that the back doesn't scratch as bad as people r saying I didn't have a case on mine for 4 weeks and it was still mint, the maps work great as well, the life of the battery is amazing, my girlfriend has to charge her HTC one x 4 times before I have to plug the iPhone 5 in. Its an overall great phone I say go with that one.

Yes. The back does scratch easily. Battery life sucks. I don't know what the person above me is talking about. He probably has it on low brightness, no sounds, and all apps turned off. The iPhone 4 and 5 are the exact same thing. I wouldn't get it if I were you

The iPhone issues are really overhyped by the media in my opinion. Maps-wise, you can download Google Maps at the App store. It's a fantastic app. The battery charge is fine as long as you charge daily - the battery isn't as strong as it is on the 4S but unless you are playing games / surfing the web all day you are unlikely to have an issue. Yes the black model does scratch a lot easier (since you see the raw aluminum underneath a lot more easily) but then you should get a case. It helps protect your resale value too! By the way if network provider isn't an issue, for the 16gb model, T-mobile costs you $99 while other providers cost you $199, tied to a 24-mo contract.

The backs are likely to scratch because they are made from aluminium, which is a soft metal.

The aluminium is adonized, which will increase the surface hardness, but that surface will only be about 0.002mm thick, and will not alter the hardness of the aluminium below.

So even though the back of the iPhone 5 will be more resistant to scratches and scuffs than untreated aluminium, it won't be by that much.

Some have questioned why they didn't make the backs out of Stainless Steel. The answer to that is cost. Aluminium is four times cheaper than stainless per area, and requires much less work to form into shape.

  • Why do poor people care more about their image and buying nice clothes than feeding their family or paying bills? I see tons of poor people who make less than 20k a year spending their entire income on nice clothes and shoes and purses and makeup. Their children are starving they can't even afford to use the air conditioner or pay for electricity but they absolutely need to buy a new iPhone or a new pair of high heels
  • Is anyone having data problems with their iPhone 4? (Virgin mobile)? About 24 hours I started receiving an error message on my phone saying I'm not subscribed to any cellular data. I can text/call perfectly fine; however, my 3G is basically useless. I've called virgin mobile at least 10 times and none of them are willing to help. They just keep transferring my call. So does anyone know what's going on?
  • I'm still having problems with my iphone server? Can you please help? I just checked my iphone, and I can now access the App Store. But the news still does not come through, Turning Point does not come through, can't receive, weather is now coming through ok. Hoping that this will give you more info. I'm still having problems in receiving my emails.
  • I have some major emoji problems My emojis randomly stopped working on my iPhone 4.it's fully updated. All of the sudden they aren't sending all the way through! To me i can see the emojis in the convo but when I send them to people, on their phone it looks like "?=?" and they have iPhones with emoji also so know the problem is on my end. What do i do to fix this!
