Are you worried about Apple's fingerprint scanner?

I'm sure the new iPhone 5S is on every child's mind this holiday season, and I'm sure you're aware that the iPhone 5S includes a fingerprint scanner for easy access, instead of having to type a four-digit pass-code. It's clearly a more secure password in terms of making sure your friends and family don't see your private messages, but do you trust Apple themselves? With the government wanting more and more information all the time, it wouldn't necessarily be that surprising if Apple does indeed send your fingerprint data to the NSA. Of course, Apple has stated that there's no fingerprint database, but can you trust them?

What do you think?

Not at all, who cares. If you think you can keep soemthing from the NSA then you are kidding yourself, if they want your fingerprint they would already have it. All workplaces have your fingerprint already so who cares.

It wouldn't bother me if they did. I'm one that doesn't mind all the CCTV video cameras operating almost everywhere these days and my shopping habits being recorded. I do wonder how you would go about unlocking the devices though if you had a finger injury (Murphy's Law and all that), as surely a scar etc would distort the image. I think you can over-worry about the mass of information out there about oneself. Some of my friends will not use cards for shopping because they don't like to disclose their shopping habits whereas I really don't care who gets that information. I do think that people should have a choice of options though and are not forced into using cards (as I envisage it will be in the future). Then again, I don't mind the idea of a inbuilt micro-chip… Preferable to memorising many multiple pin codes! It does my head in trying to memorise my own let alone my mothers and son's; as I have to assist them frequently.
