AT&T iPhone 4s to Virgin Mobile plan?

I'm looking at Virgin mobile plans and noticed they have unlimited data. I'd like to use my iPhone 4s that I got through AT&T and get a virgin mobile plan. What I'm wondering, would this be possible or would I have to buy virgin mobile's iPhone?

I believe at&t locks their iPhones and other phones to only recognize their towers so they can only use their service. In other words, AT&T makes sure no one can reuse their phones like that… Cell phone companies these days… But otherwise you would have been able to do that. With an unlocked iPhone. Which is what virgin mobile sells, I believe. And it is why it is so expensive. That or because you don't sign a two year contract. But even with the high price, it still may pay off, as I'm sure their plans are much less than At&T's or sprint's (sprint is the only carrier to offer unlimited service with an iPhone with a 2 year contract discounted price). Talking about sprint, virgin mobile uses sprint towers, so actually, since sprint uses CDMA and not GSM (uses sim cards) unlocked phones shouldn't be available for virgin mobile.

Outside the USA, GSM is used with TMobile for Better international coverage.

  • Where do I go to start a virgin mobile plan with an iPhone? I read online that virgin mobile has plans for the iPhone. I'm 19 so I wanted to start my own account with the iPhone. Where do I go to do this? RadioShack? Or is there a Virginia mobile store? I have no idea where to go.

  • If i buy an unlocked iphone on Ebay, can i use it on a virgin mobile plan? I saw the iphone on virgin moble and it is a little more than i would like to pay for. I checked ebay and i was going to bid on an iphone in hopes to get it for a cheaper price. So i was wondering if i buy a "factory unlocked" iphone on ebay, would i just be able to go to virgin mobile's website and activate it?
