Best cheap begginer digital SLR camera?

I'm taking a trip and want to be able to take some better quality pics (aka not using my iphone), but don't want to spend much. I will mostly be taking landscape pics/the usual touristy stuff haha. I'm deciding between:
OLYMPUS CAMEDIA E-10 (cheapest option)
Canon EOS XT
Canon Eos 300D… Which would you guys suggest?

The EOS XT is the 350D in the UK, and either Canon model will serve you well.

I'd think twice about the Olympus, due to its lack of a rechargeable battery (don't touch either Canon if battery and charger aren't included - they're stupidly expensive to replace), small sensor, and fixed lens - although it does give the lie to idiots who think that SLRs MUST have interchangeable lenses.

It all depends on what cheap means to you. To me a hell of a bargain is $600 for the Canon t3i. Perhaps if you figure out a budget you'll find something but nothing under $500 or so will be worth having.

Rechargeable battery

Go for either of the canon cameras. It won't be the cameras limiting how good the pictures turn out, it will be the photographer
