Bought a T-Mobile iphone 5c off craigslist on Saturday for $110, and I've requested an unlock via email with T-Mobile care because - 1

Added (1).… The girl who sold it to me wasn't answering any of my calls - avoiding me. Then, they tell me via email "Unfortunately, we're unable to process your request at this time due to the past due status of your account."

So, she didn't pay off the phone. Why is it so easy to sell unpaid phones? Why can't I just get her address from her account (All her information should be there!)

Because… What?

Why didn't you check to make sure the phone was unlocked when you got it from her. It's your responsibility to make sure that everything she said is true.

It's easy to sell locked phones because it just is. There's no law that says it's illegal.

You bought a phone of someone who was not the legal owner of the phone. The owner of the phone T-Mobile have legitimately dissabled their property - what else would you expect them to do!

If you've used PayPal, or say a credit card to pay for the phone then you have some comeback with the company that you used to buy it. If not, then you need to contact the seller in exactly the same way as you did previously.

On the other hand if you met in a gas station car park and handed over cash, what exactly did you expect!

What is your question?

BTW: Yvonne's response is a scam. DO NOT contact or you will be scammed out of money for nothing in return.

Now to answer the actual question: You were scammed by the seller. Unless you can find her and file charges of fraudulent sale of stolen merchandise, your only other option is to return the phone to the phone company. It is legally stolen property since she did not finish paying for it. That is a common scam on Craigslist these days.

At the phone company, they might be able to look up the bill and see how much is still owed on the phone and let you pay off the note if you want to keep the phone. They might instead prefer to use your statements as evidence to file criminal charges against the seller. That is up to the company. The phone company is NOT allowed (it is a violation of the federal "Right to Privacy" laws) to give out account holder address information.

Be advised that a reputable seller would charge from $150-250 for that iPhone.

Why is it so easy to sell unpaid for phones? Because there are many people who don't know how to spot a scam and waste their money because they think they are getting a "great deal"!
