Broke my iPhone 4S Battery- Will Genius Bar
Is there any way the genius bar will replace my battery if I broke policy and broke the battery myself, even though the battery was dying? I plan to be honest. Is that the best idea?
Details:
My iPhone 4s Battery was dying. I thought maybe the battery was loose because I tried other techniques that didn't help and my phone would randomly die on me even with 76% battery! Then I made a stupid mistake and accidentally ripped the battery out of the iPhone… Now the phone will not work without being plugged in and will not get a signal (even for Wi-Fi)
So, now the policies says that I can't even get the $80 battery replacement with Apple (either mailing it in or going to the Genius Bar). (Not under warranty, I bought it used)
I have a Genius Bar appointment on Monday afternoon. I'm thinking I'll just be honest and say I made a mistake but that my battery wasn't working anyways. Do you think that's a good idea? I'm really stressed about the whole situation!
Get a blackberry instead. Apple is a laughing joke
Being honest is best in the long run! In this situation, it won't matter if you are honest or not, because not only did you remove the battery, which voids service warranties, but you didn't have a warranty to begin with.
No. You took the phone apart, that voids the warranty. Even if you decided to pay the $200 replacement fee that you were going to have to pay anyway I still do not expect them to do it for you and your only real option to just buy a whole new phone. And Apple is not going to help you for free since you opened up the phone.
