Buy Iphone without using it as a phone?
So I wanna buy a refurbished iphone from gamestop and I was just wondering… If I just wanted to use the phone for now without actually activating it and using it as a phone, could I still use it? Or would i have to activate it first?

Could always just get an ipod touch instead, but ya you can use the phone without service but you might as well get an ipod touch
- Will a glass or plastic film phone BACK protector stay on the phone securely whilst using a Spigen ring? Does the protector adhere well enough that it won't come off of the phone when using the ring for what it's intended for? Will constant tugging of the ring cause bubbles under the glass protector or damage the plastic film? Examples would be glass back protector on the all glass iPhone back, or in my situation a plastic wet film installed on the "matte" glass back of the Pixel 3… With a Spigen ring installed onto the protector.
- Ways to reset a iPhone without using the touch screen on a phone? I need to reset my iPhone but the touch screen on the phone don't work properly, so I can't type my Apple ID or my password in because it doesn't work. Is there any other way to completely wipe a iPhone without using the phone it's self?

My parents dooesnt want to add me to the family plan until January (my 14th bday). I don't want to wait until january to be able to use it.

After it was shut off, I was still able to text my friends that I messaged before. Is there a way to message other people that use iMessage without phone service?
