Buyer wants a refund on ebay?

So, i sold an iphone on ebay, it somehow became broken in the mail? The guy said there was a crack on it, but there's no evidence of that in the picture i put up nor was there before i sent it. Should i give him a refund (I really don't want to), partial refund (I'm okay with). Or is just stuck with the broken phone? All answers appreciated.

He's probably trying to scam you for a discount - the chances that it got cracked while shipping are pretty small unless you did a very bad job of packing it; iPhones are pretty tough. Unfortunately asking him for a photo of the crack probably isn't worthwhile since most iPhones look alike.

If you're OK with maybe being scammed (unless the amount is small), then go ahead with the partial refund; I think you have to just use PayPal to send it to him; you can't do it within eBay.

But if I were you, I would tell him that if he doesn't like the phone, he's free to return it to you and you'll give him a full refund. Of course he'll have to pay to ship it back.

Honestly, don't give him a refund. The worst thing he can do is give you some bad feedback! If the picture you took has no evidence of a crack then you can prove to the buyer that it isn't your fault that it is cracked and that if he wants to then he is welcome to sell it off again.

I think its a scam or he broke it a few days after he had it, it shouldn't have got broken in the mail unless you had no bubble wrap on it etc, no way it broke with bubble wrap even if dropped.
