What does it mean when you're calling someone and you don't hear anything? Is the phone dead

I've been trying to call my cousin, and it's definitely not my phone cuz I can call everyone just fine. When I call him I literally hear no dial tone nothing it sounds like air? Then it just goes straight to voicemail after a while. Then when I look at the info it saids the out going call was "1 second" or when it goes to voicemail it saids "3 second"

Does it mean their iPhone is more likely dead or off or something? I haven't heard from them either last we texted was wendsday

  • Why can't I hear the ring when I'm calling someone? I have had my phone for a few months now its pretty new and it's an iPhone 4S but when I call someone I can't hear the ring? It has never done this before it only started today. Why is it like this is it broke or something I can hear the person talk just not the ring when you call someone? Why is it like this? Is it broke? I still have an iPhone 3GS and recently I have found that whenever I make a call or receive a call, I can't hear the person on the other end, but they can hear me. It doesn't work when it's on speaker or headphones either. But whenever I listen to music or sound from an app I'm hear it fine. I have tried a hard resets and I don't know what to do. Well it just happened i was calling my dad like 10 minuets ago and then i hung up and then called him 5 minuets later and i could hear him but he can't hear me for some reason why is that?   • What does 'USER BUSY' mean when calling someone? Does 'USER BUSY' mean the other person rejected the call or they're on the phone with someone else at the time? (NOT on iphone btw if it makes a difference)
