Can a an iphone without a sim card still be tracked if it is lost/stolen?
If someone steals my iphone 5, and then they remove the sim card, is there any hope of it being tracked and returned to me?
There's an app called ''find my iPhone''. Did you have that? Did you have it turned on? It's a very good feature for apple devices so you can track your phone from another apple device, or from a computer by going to www.icloud.com and there you have to long in with your apple ID and track your phone. If you didn't have this then you can ask the Apple store. I'm not sue if they can track it without a sim card but they should be able to do that by the serial number of your phone. You should call Apple.
Yes, if they use it on Wi-Fi. Also, in iOS7 you can block it from ever being used again even if they wipe it using the find my iPhone. You still probably won't get it back.
Heres a locator you can buy for extra protection

If you have set up find my iphone in icloud on the device before, you can try to locate your device with find my iphone. Go to https://www.icloud.com/...cloud.com/ in your web browser. When you log in, Find My iPhone will immediately begin trying to locate your phone if it is online. If it is offline, you can try to enable Lost Mode and others, learn more here: http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Lost-iPhone
If it does not work, it is better for you to contact your service provider and phone provider and see if they can help. To prevent your new idevice from being stolen or lost in the future, I suggest you apply some free anti-theft apps like iLostFinder ( http://ikeymonitor.com/free-apps ) except set up Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod in iCloud on the device. It will take pics of the thief or finder when she/he tries to open your device with a wrong pass and then send the pics to your email etc. Hope it helps.
- Say someone sold you a stolen or lost iPhone 5.can it be tracked? I lost an iPhone 5… Just wondering, is there a way to track it to who ever has it? I mean after they have basically factory reset it. I heard they have a GPS tracker that allows the carrier to track it… Is that true? Can someone start using the phone themselves… With no problem. Have I lost my iPhone for good?
- If I report a phone as lost/stolen AFTER the thief gets a chance to put a sim card in, would it lock the phone just like that? Got my iPhone SE stolen a few days ago, and Koodo is supposedly calling me tomorrow to ask if I want to report it as stolen. Is it possible that the thief is able get away with this? Also if they manage to unlock the carrier somehow?
- Can my stolen iPad be tracked down without Find My iPhone app? Needless to say, my iPad 2nd generation with Wi-Fi was stolen out of my purse which I had stupidly left unattended at work. I have the serial number. I was just wondering if the police will be able to track down the culprit with the serial number (assuming they have to plug it into iTunes to use!)… Not feeling good about the outcome, but seeking for people with experience/knowledge in this area.
- Can my Iphone still be tracked if the sim card is taken out? I recently lost an iphone 4s from att i want to know if i can still track my iphone if they took the sim card out and its not connected to Wi-Fi
