Can a secured Wi-Fi be breached?
I don't know too much about & just trying to get more information. My Girlfriend 11 & 12 year want it hooked up because their father bought them both IPHONES & he suggested to us we get Wi-Fi so his phone bill will not be high. My Girlfriend was against them getting expensive phones because the kids lose them & he has a habit of not paying the bill, so she feels he is responsible for putting limits on calling & data & I agrees with her. We do are banking/bills online & that is a concern for her & I. Any information would be very helpful thank you.
Anything can be breached.
If an attacker has enough resources and determination after a while EVERYTHING gets breached.
Children are more likely to pick up viruses as their friends will recommend risky things to download to the phones, this is natural.
The best advice is to install protection on the phones, use secured Wi-Fi - and make sure everything is kept up to date - and keep an eye on what the kids are putting on the phones.
A secured Wi-Fi is hard to break due to the fact it has digits and numbers as the password. However with the proper software it can be broken overtime for a advance computer user. With the iphones you would have to be in a public wi-fi area such as starbucks, mcdonalds, or areas where they have free Wi-Fi internet. You can also connect to your secure home network wi-fi as well. If you don't use Wi-Fi on your iphone then you would be using your data internet plan on your cell phone which can be expensive if you go over the amount of your data internet plan by your cell phone company.
Wow iphones for an 11 and 12year old? Seriously all they're gonna do is text, take pictures of themselves and shoot videos for u-tube, things a regular phone can do. You'd better get insurance for them phones, my nephew 14 yrs old has already lost 2 phones his razor phone and a blackberry but ya good tip for that age is get insurance. About the breaching dude anything can be breached but they gotta have info from you inorder to do it, if you don't share your information, whatver info then you will be ok. Don't share it with the kids and turn on some parental controls on the phone to limit their use of certain appps and stuff
What makes you think Wi-Fi with passwords are the safest thing in the digital world?
The password can be cracked or if the Wi-Fi is vulnerable, it will be even easier.
The most obvious way to get hacked is by clicking on stupid links with catchy images and unbelievable caption. Your Wi-Fi does not have to be strong, you need to know more about computers in order to protect yourself from threats.
There are so many things you need to be aware before you even bank online (know the consequences), Getting hacked depends on how you use your computer. I'd recommend you to get a laptop that you only use for very confidential things
OR
Read about how your computer can get compromised and protect yourself from them.

- Somebody has accessed my secured WPA home network with no password whatsoever? Two nephews at home… One needed the password, one could access my very own home network with no password whatsoever, and did so on another network. What sorcery is in his iPhone? I'm very worried. Again, it seems he can access networks ignoring their security, happened at least twice, not just my own network.
