Can charging an iphone overnight possibly hurt it?
Ok I can predict the first couple of answers: "the battery is lithium no it's safe to leave it plugged in" but hear me out. I NEVER leave my 5 charging overnight for fear of hurting it, but i decided to last night because I was playing an internet game that required me to have the internet page for it open to progress, so to get some more currency on it I left the page up on Google Chrome, not safari, all night and left it plugged up so it wouldnt die on me overnight. Then today, my phone started at 100% and died on me fairly quickly which NEVER happens to me, and I hardly used it too. And when I got home and charged it i watched a short video, this time on safari, and I LOST battery percentage even though it was plugged into the wall charger. I've narrowed it down to either me recently downloading Google Chrome (froze on me today so i deleted it and problems seem to have stopped) or the fact that I left my phone plugged up. Which is it?
I charge mine overnight all the time… Never had an issue
Whenever you use an app, it gets sent to the background when you press the Home button. It doesn't actually close down until you close it down. If you double-tap the Home button, a row of apps that are running in the background will open up. Press down on one of the apps until small red circles with dashes in them appear in each corner of each app. Close down all of the apps you aren't using, and you should experience slightly better (if not a whole lot better) battery life.
More apt to be a memory problem and shut down is an auto feature to protect the phone. Turn it off and take the battery out. Let it sit a few mins to bleed off the memory. When you put the battery in and turn it back on, it will boot up in the factory reset mode. Leaving it hooked to the charger is not a problem. All chargers have been " smart " chargers for some years now. Leaving it running on an open ap as you did could caue any number of glitches during the night. It only takes the loss of one tiny bit to lock things up.
- Will charging my Iphone X i it's case hurt the battery? So I know it's recommended to take off a case while charging your phone to reduce excessive heat. However I finally got around to buying an Otterbox for my X. Anyone who owes Otterboxes knows taking them on and off can be a pain and will sooner or later hurt the rubber outside and put strain on the plastic clips and break those eventually as well. So knowing all that, is it a big deal? Or should I try to keep the room i'm charging the phone in cool?
- Why does charging an iPhone over night hurt it, and how can I help it? Okay. Does my battery die quickly because I charge it over night? And does it kinda mess it up? I've heard it does that. If so, then how and when do I charge my iPhone? How can I make it so my battery life lasts longer?
- What happens if I leave my iPhone 5s charging overnight? Will it do any kind of harm to the battery or anything to the phone? Because I'm scared to charge it overnight:/ so please help me:/
- What can hurt your iPhone's performance? My girlfriend insists that if you unplug your iPhone or MacBook while its still charging and not at 100% yet, that it will hurt your iPhone or MacBook. Is this true? What are some other things that can hurt the performance?
