Can duct tape insulate wire?
I somehow managed to rip the rubber insulation off my IPhone charger and I wrapped it up with 3M duct tape. We dot have any electrical tape and I can't get a new charger until tomorrow. Will I die if I try charging my phone like this?
It should be fine… But i would not put the ducktaped part of the cord near anything combustable, like a rug, papers or clothes… Elevated it or make sure that part of the wire is sitting in a glass cooking dish or ceramic plate… It may get hot… Just a warning
You can't have 2 bare wires touching. So look and make sure no wires touch then wrap them.
LOL, you won't die from the 12 or 5 volts the adapter creates. Duct tape is fine as an insulator. In fact ANY tape will work fine as an electrical insulator with the possible exception of metal tape. You need to learn some basic chemistry/physics. Insulators are anything that does not conduct electricity.
- Where can I buy thin, stiff wire? I'm looking for the thinnest possible wire that is pliable and can hold its shape while standing vertically, possibly while holding a hollow, iPhone-sized, cardboard box.Am I able to find this anywhere? And am I more likely to find something like this at an arts and crafts store or a hardware store?

- Is it okay to Duct-tape wires? So I got a new cord for my iphone charger. And I don't want kittens eatting through the wire. I duct taped the wire. Is that okay?
- IPhone cracked, maybe put tape? So i dropped my iphone and the entire back of it is shattered. Like the glass is still there but its completely cracked up. I have to hide this from my dad at least until december so i bought a case to hide it. but i don't want the shards of glass to come off, so i was wondering if i put tape on the entire back side of my phone would that keep the glass pieces from falling off under the case?
