Can I activate an iphone or droid on verizon without a data plan?
My friend is offering me her old verizon iphone 4, and I'm wondering if I can activate it on my existing plan just as I could do with any other phone. That way I could just have a phone that is also anmp3 player.
Data plans are mandatory for smartphones.

- How to activate a verizon iphone without a data plan? I heard that if you buy a verizon iphone on ebay or if someone gives you their old one, you could jailbreak it and activate with out paying for a data plan. Could I buy one from the verizon store and jailbreak it to use it without a data plan?
