Can I activate my iPhone 4S from sprint internationally?

I recently got an iPhone 4S from Sprint. On Thursday I'm going out of the country for awhile. My IPhone hasn't been activated yet and it won't be until my number gets transferred from AT&T, and that can take up to two weeks. Is there any way, when it does come through, that I can activate my iPhone internationally?

It is possible to activate it internationally and you can probably do that before you actually get the phone up and running but there's an additional cost for any call/text etc. That is sent or received out of the country. Those 'roaming fees' are charged at various rates depending on the country involved. If you want to stay in touch it would be better to find a computer store in each country/city/hotel where you can use their computer (for emails) for a small fee. Hotels sometimes have computers you can use for free. Some phone companies will enable your phone for international use for free but don't make the mistake of thinking that means it's free to USE it out of the country. It isn't.
