Can I bring my iPhone to Cuba?

I'm a Canadian and in a couple of days I'm going to Cuba for the first time for my moms wedding. I assumed I would have no problem bringing my iphone with me, because it's by far the best camera I have, and it would be nice to listen to music on the plane. A few friends of mine were saying that I'm going to have a problem once I actually get to Cuba, because apparently they may confiscate it unless I put it in my checked baggage. If I do that then I won't have it on the plane, but if I don't I'm now worried they'll take it and honestly that would really bother me. Please, anybody with first hand experience, help me figure out what to do. The idea of giving it to them when I get there has me wanting to leave it home, but if I do that then I'm not going to have a camera, or any entertainment on the ride. It's my alarm clock, my iPod, and my books. What do I do? Is this true, and they'll take it from me?

Sure bring it, you can then say your from the future and your advanced tech will cure communism

Lots of people travel to Cuba with iphones or other smartphones - I have never heard of anyone having any problems.

Your friends seem to know nothing about Cuba are are talking nonsense.

Take it, but do NOT put it in your checked luggage. It will not be confiscated. I"ve taken 2 iphones in without any problems. If you put it in your checked luggage, it will probably disappear, eith in Canada or Cuba. Always keep all electronics/valuables in your carry on bag.
