Text in Cuba using data roaming?
Basically I'm going on holiday to Cuba in 3 days and I have a up led iPhone and on 3 network and was wondering what would be the best way of using Internet or texting Over there
Cuba is still pretty much a B road on the information superhighway, of the 2 hotels that I've personally stayed at only one has Wi-Fi but both do have pay internet café. Texting and using your mobile in Cuba I can't tell you mine stays at home.
A lot depends what roaming your network has - you could try asking them.
But I doubt that you will be able to use internet there.
And check what roaming charges there are - they could be quite high.
Use a hotel computer
Your phone needs to run on a 900gsm band to work in Cuba, and your service provider needs to service Cuba. Roaming is VERY expensive. Texts will cost about $1 each to send, plus roaming. For internet, you can use your hotel dial up connection at 8-10CUC per hour. Allot 20 minutes to sign on and 5 minutes to send an e-mail.
If you want to you may go to the below website. Here lots of information about this which may be helpful for you and also informatics. Best of luck

It's now free to text and call and use mobile data in Europe and I'm on contract with O2 and have unlimited everything. I'm just wondering if on my iPhone I have to turn data roaming on to get this or will this charge me? How does it work?
