Can I buy a locked iphone 4 from usa for 99 dollars and then use in india as an ipod?
My uncle stays in the usa. He can get one for me. But does he have to pay the monthly charges as per contract, or can he just stop paying?
He would have to pay an early termination fee which is $350, or will have to pay FULL price for the phone.
He can just stop paying but there's a chance he'll get in trouble… So you might as well wait till the contract gets over or unlock the phone then you can use it in India not only as an iPod but also as an iPhone…
The $99 price requires a 2 year contract commitment. You have to honor the contract, pay early termination fees or have it mess up your credit. It's cheaper to just buy an iPod.
- What if I buy an Iphone5s locked on contract and leave USA? Can I unlock it? Say I visit US for 2 days, go to AT&T buy the phone on contract, pay almost nothing for the device and leave US after 2 days and go to France.
