Can I buy iPhone 5 without SSN?

I want to buy AT&T's iPhone 5 within 2 years contract in Seattle. When I'm purchasing the payment, the website ask me for the Social Security Number. Actually, I'm an exchange student and having my first college quarter, and haven't any SSN.
What should I do now?
Do they still asking for the SSN when I buy directly in the store and pay in cash?

Go to your local AT&T dealer and see if you can make a contract without SSN input. I know some retails allow that and some don't so you'll have to call and ask before you go. I don't think there's any legal issues involving that but I would check again since I'm not a law book: D

WARNING: Do NOT walk into a shady retailer if they tell you they could activate service for lower price or without SSN (if you do need one). If it sounds too good to be true, they might be using illegal methods to activate phones. Please be careful.

If you directly to the store and you already have an AT&T account then they shouldn't ask your for you SSN. But if you don't then you'll have to create an AT&T account in the store if you're a new customer.

Yes you can. IPhone has changed the smartphone industry. It is simpler, faster, lighter and thinner. The iPhone 5 is unveiled to meet the refinements and improvements that people is demanding. Before buying Iphone you can check its features and other information from online.
