Can I call the police to patrol for this?
I suspect our cats are being abused by someone in our neighborhood. I don't know who it is exactly, but I do suspect some things.
Our two adult male cats love to hang out in the front of the woods. One of them, our Bengal cat, Chip, has lately been afraid of his own shadow. One footstep you make around him will make him jump a mile. He always turns around quickly when he hears something & when we let him out through the garage, he stays in the garage to check if the coast is clear before going outside, this has been happening for months now, & he never used to do this when we first got him 3 years ago.
Today, I saw a white car from the '90s park outside the front of the woods. A teenage guy in a white t-shirt, blue bathing trunks & sandals got out of the passenger seat & looked around before proceeding to the trees. He spotted something in there and pointed to it and talked to the driver of the car, then went back tiptoeing to the woods and disappeared in the trees for about 5 minutes. The driver kept backing up a few feet slowly. Then finally, one of our neighbors who rides around with a golf cart came around the corner and the teenager ran back out of the woods and into the car, then the two teenagers in that car sped away when they saw the golf cart. I saw all of this happen through my window.
Can I call the police to patrol the neighborhood daily? I want to protect my cats.
I took pics with my iPhone to show as evidence. I got the teen and the car.
I think the cops have far more important things than guarding your cats.
If you want to protect your cats, leave them indoors. When you let cats wander around outside anything can happen to them.
You can inform the local police about anything you want. If you are asking if your call will result in a change in the deployment of patrol officers in your town, I have no way of knowing.
Who knows what the guy in the swim trunks was doing in the woods? I doubt that you could generate much police interest in this situation of your cat being skittish and a guy in a bathing suit going into the woods.
The best thing to do is to keep you cats indoors. I know cats love to roam and find adventure, but the safest place for them is in the home. Experts will tell you that outside cats are frequently hit by cars; injured by other animals; pick up diseases; come into contact with poisons; and have shorter lifespans than indoor cats.
When i contacted police about my prowling problem actually i asked them in person at the coffee shop they said if i didn't have proof of anything stolen or a crime committed all they could do is up the patrols in my neighborhood now they haven't caught the guy yet but they made several arrests since and i recommend buying a servlance camera where you think the crime is happening hide it good and call your local police for advice maybe they have more suggestions

Can I call the police So here s the story I got into a fight with my brother all the way back in April and then my mom came over to my grandma s house where I live and snatch my iPhone out of my hand now she has refused to give it back and she won't even give it back to my grandmother my mom doesn't own the phone in her name so I'm wondering if I could call the police and see if I could get the phone back then
- My iphone was stolen. Find my iphone tracked it 15 miles from my house. Should I call police? It happened two weekends ago and I don't think the person ever turned it on until today but I got an email saying it was turned on, lost mode was activated so it locked itself, and it has tracked it to a city about 15 miles away from my house at an apartment complex. I don't think it would be necessary to go there and start knocking on doors. Should I contact police? Its an iphone 4.
