I got my iphone 5 stolen i know who took it can i call the police?
I got my phone stolen yesterday and today i get a video on my fb of them throwing the phone into a wall breaking it i know who he was and his address can i call the police and if so what kind of trouble can they get in it was an iphone 5 brand new

If you have irrefutable evidence (the Facebook video) you can make a copy of, you can take it to the police and file a complaint. He can then be arrested for theft and destruction of property. Just be sure you have the evidence. My husband is a detective who works in property crimes and that is what he is always saying--people come in with complaints but unless there's proof, nothing can be done just on "suspicion". File your complaint as quickly as possible before he has time to get away. Also, if you could find pieces of the phone at the location where he smashed it, take the pieces (in a baggie, using gloves so you won't mess up his fingerprints being on the phone) and take them into the station with you. Oh, and then you can take him to small claims court, along with the receipt and paperwork for your phone (those are very important to prove you were the phone's owner) and demand a refund for the cost of the phone.

To prevent your new idevice from being stolen or lost in the future, I suggest you apply some free anti-theft apps like iLostFinder ( http://ikeymonitor.com/free-apps ) except set up Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod in iCloud on the device.
