Can I Cancel My Contract W/ AT&T?

My bill for my iphone is a bit steep for me. So I'm wondering if I can get the Straight Sim card that is compatible with AT&T. BUT before I do that, I'm sure I would have to cancel my contract… Can I even do this?

If you recently got the phone, you may have a long contract time left. If you paid for the phone up front, you own it. If you got it on a promotion (say for $99), then the cost of the phone is built into a 2year contract term. Bailing out on a contract can be very expensive. Call the customer service number, or go to the local store and ask them what options you have.

This is why I buy my phones outright and don't sign any lengthy contracts. Once you do, it costs a bunch of money to cancel early. Owning the phone without contracts is a larger up front investment, but offers more freedom to change plans, add or remove features, and upgrade when you are ready… Not when the contract matures. Another good option is the pre-paid unlimited everything for about $50/month. You buy the phone (limited selection usually) but no contract, and affordable monthly fees.

Yes you could cancel but are you still in a contract? Because in order to leave at&t you have to pay a early termination fee upto $350! So if your still in a contract i'd suggest to stay until your contract is over, if you could afford to pay the early termination fee then its a different story! I don't know how the unlock process works! Just call at&t and ask them

You can cancel the contract anytime you want but be prepared to pay a early termination fee. The more you have left on your contract the more you will pay

Yes. You still gotta pay termination. Go with H20 Wireless. Still ATTs network but faster. Straight Talk is also using ATT but the internet is severely throttled.
