Can I claim with my insurance from my bag being stolen on girls holiday?
We're in zante and my friends bag got stolen on the strip and it had her iPhone and her purse and our hotel keys (which we had to pay 150 Euro for the two keys and the new lock because the keys had the name of the hotel on it so they were worried someone will trespass). We have the receipt for the keys, and our holiday rep is going to write a statement about the theft. Is there a way we can claim for anything? I think my friend who's bag it was had travel insurance with Debenhams.
Your friend needs to read the terms and conditions of her travel insurance she has with Debenhams.

My homeowners covers theft but there's also a 500 dollar deductible.
Note that swapping the core of a lock out takes about five min. And if it moves to another room there's no way that key helps. That is an excessive charge and the real problem is they aren't using the cheap keycards that you just program out.

either way the owner of the bag can make a claim on their insurance, but there will probably be a large excess and the regular policy might not cover mobile phones. However, its always worth a try, the insurance can only say no.
