Can I do taxe break for ebay?

I'm a college student trying to make some extra cash online. I like to buy broken iphones on ebay, repair them, and then resell them for profit. When I sell the phone online, I profit around $50. However, If i got $150 out of the phone, ebay thinks I have profited $150.Is there anyway to get a tax break on the money I'm actually investing and only be taxed on my actually profits?

Added (1). Sorry about that. I read that ebay and pay pal are partner companies, and from what I understand, pay pal reports if you have over 200 transactions with a value of over $20, 000. This would mean they would see my total profit as $150, instead of the $50 i'm actually making in profit. Any idea on a way around this?

Ebay doesn't report tax information to the IRS. Even if they did I doubt that you make enough to have to file

You are only taxed on your profits. You report your total sales amount on schedule C of your 1040 and list all your expenses (cost of broken iPhones, repair parts, etc,) on schedule C also. E-bay has no idea what your costs were so all they can report on is your gross sales, it is up to you to keep track of your expenses and report them to determine your net profit.
