Can I evolve my haunter into gengar by leaving him in the poke daycare?

Oh Emulation… No matter what device you use Emulation on you won't be able to trade, and NO that won't work. I mean you could try it but it won't work, possibly cheat? I'm not sure if you can do that either. I'm sorry but no Gengar.
