Can I flash an iphone 5 to tmobile?
I found an iphone 5 and the owner locked it with a message saying to email him if found. I've sent him multiple emails and no response. So if he doesn't respond I would like to use it for myself. It is working on verizon and I wanted to know if I could get it flashed even if it's locked with his message and passcode.
Added (1). How would i go about getting it factory unlocked?
yes I'm an honest person and have actually emailed him, it's been a week now
No verizon would not work with tmobile
You can get the phone factory unlocked and use on T-Mobile. Have you really emailed that person and he didn't respond? Wait for few days as he might not have access to a computer.
I work at T mobile and yes the iphone 5 from verizon is compatible with t mobile. But just know that any unlocked phone runs on T mobile's 1900 band which means you will have slower data connection and possibly less bars in certain areas than a T mobile Iphone 5.
First off if you really want to return the phone you can go to any verizon store and they can track the MEID to the rightful owner.
If you don't plan to return the phone I would suggest getting it factory reset to remove lock screen and trading it in at a T mobile. Most stores give you in store trade in for phones towards the purchase of a new phone.
Or use the phone and hope that the 1900 band in your area is updated and you have no connectivity issues. I know my area has a strong 1900 band.
Whatever you decide the answer is yes you can because the Iphone 5 from Verizon is GSM (sim card capable)

There may be a 1000 reasons why he can't respond to an Email,
It not you do the minimum or one option and you get to keep it.
Once say VERIZON has it, it WILL BE RETURNED! Your email has not been replied to, so take it to Verizon store get details of the store etc and send an email detailing your action.
The owner gave you a method to contact, if he did not, would you get to keep it by saying or doing nothing as there was no return to if lost. HONEST
